Total Raised So Far - $112,000 and counting!
Although the “Walk Across Canada in a Day” event is new, FUNdraising Friday has been a tradition in London and area for many years now. It is a very flexible way to have some fun with your co-workers while raising money for research into a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
In the past decade, local businesses have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in some very creative ways. For example, Delaware Speedway encouraged its spectators to walk the track on opening night for pledges, Purdom Insurance held a silent auction and dessert delivery service, while some staff members at J-AAR Construction created amazing bag lunches and sold them to co-workers. Other companies held casual days, bake sales, garage sales, and raffles for a “day-off-work”.
