Walk Across Canada in a Day – May 7, 2010

Sponsored by:

Thanks to the generosity of schools like yours, last year's Walk Across Canada in a Day for Jesse's Journey was a huge success! The walk, together with other FUNdraising Friday events, raised over $223,000 to help fund research into a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and other genetic diseases.

Hundreds of people, including schools, businesses, friends, families and boys with DMD took part in the walk and when we added all the kilometres walked, we not only walked across Canada – but all the way back too!

Since John Davidson walked across Canada (April 1998 – January 1999), the Jesse Davidson Endowment has been able to fund more than $3 million in research across North America.

Your school is invited to take part in the Walk Across Canada in a Day on Friday, May 7, 2010 (or on another day if that works better for your schedule). We are asking each student at your school to walk one kilometre on school property, and to gather pledges or donate a toonie to fund research.

If your school registers for the walk and would prefer to have your event at a time other than May 7, we can try to arrange John (if his schedule allows it) to participate in the walk at your school. If you already have a special project in mind other than the walk – go for it! We can provide you with posters and other items to support your event.

Thank you again for your continuing support of Jesse's Journey. We hope you can participate in Walk Across Canada in a Day , on Friday, May 7, 2010.
