In 2019/20, Jesse’s Journey hosted three educational webinars for more than 400 attendees, including topics such as “Research Funding in Canada,” “COVID-19 and Duchenne”, and “Back to School Considerations for Individuals Living with Muscular Dystrophy.” This year, our first webinar will focus on:
What: Understanding and Managing Behaviour in DMD
Presented by Dr. Natalie Truba, Clinical Psychologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio
Dr. Truba will discuss the emotional, behavioural and cognitive challenges commonly experienced by boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and manifesting girl carriers, along with providing a broad overview of strategies that may help you better manage challenging behaviours. She will also review insights regarding the impact of COVID-19 and identify strategies for adaptive coping during the pandemic.

Who: This webinar is open to parents and caregivers, extended family, and Duchenne professionals (such as aides and OT/PT providers, for example, those involved in managing behaviour in the context of care/therapies).
