Defeat Duchenne. Change Lives.

Is There a Cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy?

The families of thousands of boys in Canada are in a race against time to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).

In Canada, one in every 5,000 boys suffer from Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Few of these young boys will survive beyond their mid-20’s. For them, research to find a cure is the road to hope.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is the most common fatal genetic disorder diagnosed in childhood

Although we don’t yet have a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, researchers are closer now than ever before in putting an end to a disease that quietly robs parents of their children.

“When researchers work together miracles can happen.” – Jesse Davidson

Jesse’s Journey is not only about Jesse Davidson who lost his battle with Duchenne muscular dystrophy on November 6, 2009 at the age of 29, but the thousands of boys who face the same challenges that Jesse fought each day. Research is complex and often hard to explain to people and yet it is moving us down the road to eliminating a disease that robs so many parents of their children.

You can make a measurable difference by helping us reach our goal of funding the most promising research until a cure is found.  Click here for updates on recent research, and projects that we fund.

We are fortunate to have the support of so many donors and volunteers who understand the impact their dollars have on funding research, and have chosen Jesse’s Journey to give their valuable time and donations.

We thank all our donors for being our partners in research – and helping Jesse’s Journey create a better life for all those boys in Canada and around the world who will follow in the footsteps of Jesse Davidson – a courageous young man who envisioned a better world for all the boys like himself.
