Jesse's Journey Foundation

Defeat Duchenne. Change Lives.

Max’s Big Ride 2019

Eight year old Max and his father Andrew are hitting the road with their family on June 3, 2019 for their fifth annual Max’s Big Ride and they would love your support!

Please support Max and Andrew during their 600 km ride from Hamilton to Ottawa by pledging an amount for each kilometre they ride. Your generous donation will help Jesse’s Journey continue to fund the most promising research into a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Max’s Big Ride and Jesse’s Journey have partnered with the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) to direct the proceeds from this year’s ride to the establishment of a doctoral fellowship in the internationally-recognized Gunning Group Lab at UTM. The fellowship recipient will evaluate the effectiveness of the group’s STAT3 inhibitors in animal models of Duchenne. The group hopes to find ways of not only preventing the muscle atrophy that characterizes the disease, but also reversing existing damage, so that those confined to a wheelchair can regain their mobility.
